TRT supplies APVS seat belts, safety belts, fitting kits and accessories for trucks, buses, forklifts, machinery, marine and heavy transport applications across New Zealand.
From standard replacement belts to Easi-Grip safety belt systems for forklifts and machinery, our seating team will help you find the right belt, fitting kit and mounting option for your application.
Certified safety restraints for every application.
APVS is one of Australia's most established safety restraint manufacturers, ISO 9001:2015 certified and manufacturing to AS/NZS 2596 and SAE J386.
TRT stocks the full APVS range across New Zealand: static and retractable belts, lap and diagonal belts, harnesses, certified fitting kits, and mounting stalks from 115mm to 450mm.
All belts are sold as kits, complete with stalk.
Safety belts that keep your team moving.
Heavy transport, machinery, and forklift applications put different demands on a seat belt. Frequent entry and exit, exposure to dust and grit, gloved hands, and wide variation in seating configurations all affect how a belt performs, and whether an operator uses it.
TRT stocks APVS seat belts and safety belt kits for a wide range of commercial and heavy transport applications, with mounting options to help achieve the right fit and angle.
-
Static Belts
APVS static belts provide a fixed-length restraint for applications where a retractor is not needed or practical. Sold as a kit with the appropriate mounting stalk, they are available across the full range of stalk heights and configurations to suit different seating setups.
-
Retractable Belts
APVS retractable belts keep the webbing clear of the entry path when not in use, which matters in truck and bus applications where the driver exits regularly across a shift. The retractor returns the belt to a consistent, accessible position every time.
-
Lap and Diagonal Belts
Lap and diagonal belts cover pelvis and chest restraint across a wide range of vehicle and seating types. The APVS range is certified to AS/NZS 2596 for automotive use and SAE J386 for industrial and mobile plant, covering the full spread of commercial and industrial applications.
-
Harnesses
APVS harnesses provide multi-point restraint for applications where a lap or diagonal belt alone is not sufficient. They suit high-vibration environments, off-road machinery, and any situation requiring a greater level of occupant protection.
-
Certified Fitting Kits, Reinforcing Plates, and Accessories
Every APVS belt is sold as a kit with certified fitting hardware and a mounting stalk matched to the application. Reinforcing plates and accessories are available where the mounting point needs structural backing, or where anchorage positions are non-standard.
-
Mounting Stalks
APVS mounting stalks are available in straight, tunnel mount, and electric configurations, in heights from 115mm to 450mm plus an adjustable web option. The right stalk height positions the buckle where the driver can reach it without looking, which is what gets a belt used consistently.
-
OEM-Match Seat Belts
TRT stocks genuine replacement seat belts for KAB, Bostrom, Pilot, and other popular seat brands in use across the New Zealand fleet. If you need a direct replacement for a specific seat model, the TRT team can confirm the correct belt.
Easi-Grip Safety Belts
Built to make buckling up easier.
In forklifts and machinery, operators are often in and out of the seat throughout the day. Gloves, rainwear, thermal clothing, dirt and tight cab spaces can all make a standard belt harder to find and fasten.
APVS Easi-Grip Safety Belts help solve that. The belt is presented in an easy-to-reach position, so operators can locate, grip and fasten it quickly. That makes it easier to reinforce site safety policies and encourage belt use every shift.
How Easi-Grip works
The Easi-Grip system is designed to present the tongue and buckle in a convenient position, can be used with protective gloves, includes a web cleaning system, and offers mounting options for industrial applications.
- Presented to the operator
The belt tongue and buckle sit where the operator can find them quickly.
- Easier entry
The buckle arm on the access side lifts up for easier entry.
- Comfortable fit
Soft moulding wraps around the body for a secure, comfortable fit.
- Safety monitoring ready
Warning lights or monitoring devices can be activated if the belt is not connected.
- Built for harsh environments
The APVS web cleaning system helps keep dirt, gravel and stones out of the belt unit.

When to replace your seat belt.
A cut as small as 5mm in the webbing can reduce a seat belt's effectiveness by half, making it unreliable in a crash.
Belt performance also degrades with age and regular use, not just visible damage. Seat belts must be replaced when they are old, visibly worn, or after any accident involving the vehicle.
In commercial and industrial operations, operators are in and out of vehicles continuously, which accelerates wear on both the webbing and the hardware.
Use the APVS Seat Belt Safety Checklist to assess webbing strength, stitching condition, and retractor operation across your fleet. Make it a regular part of your maintenance schedule, not a reactive one.
